Today, D1 had their last science lesson with Mrs Harrison for term 3! This was our 3rd lesson, and we were learning all about MAGNETS!
We already knew that magnets stuck to metal, and that they sometimes stick together, and sometimes don't!
We did some experimenting to figure out what else they could do.
Click read more to see what we did!
Teneil figured out that magnets work through PAPER! |
Samuel found out they work through metal! |
Max's magnet worked through plastic! |
Keenan and Harshit were thinking hard! |
Oscar found out magnets can work through GLASS! |
After our experimenting, Mrs Harrison helped us make a list of what we had found out. We discovered that sometimes magnets can work THROUGH other things, but only if they are thin enough!
Oscar found out that if the magnets are strong enough, they can work through your HAND! |
But not through your head. |
So today we learned that magnets can stick together and pick up metal even if something is in the WAY!
For our last activity, Mrs Harrison set up 4 stations, where we could do some fun experiments with metal, magnets and other cool things!
Check it out!
