Jelly!

Last week, D1's letter of the week was 'j'. To celebrate our wonderful learning, we made jelly on Wednesday. While we made it, we practiced writing about our senses.

We looked at the jelly crystals and wrote what they looked like, felt like, smelt like, tasted like and sounded like.
Then we looked at the jelly water and wrote what they looked like, felt like, smelt like, tasted like and sounded like.
Finally, we looked at the jelly when it was set and wrote what they looked like, felt like, smelt like, tasted like and sounded like.
Finally we got to eat the jelly and it was DELCIOUS!

On Thursday we wrote our own stories about eating the jelly. Our stories were great! Jack and Hayley's stories were so fantastic they were put on the 'quality work wall'

Yesterday we made jelly. The crystals were crunchy.
It tasted like strawberries. - Hayley

Yesterday we made jelly. It tasted yummy. It looked like lettuce. - Jack
Leave a comment telling us what you think jelly looks like!

Quality Workers

This week, we had THREE quality workers!

Our first was Ronan. Ronan wrote an amazing story about his Mum on Wednesday. He remembered his full stops and capital letters, and did some great sounding out! He even figured out that cooking has two o's!

Ronan - My Mum is great. I love my Mum.
My mum is good at cooking.
Our second and third quality workers were Zoe and Jack. They both wrote fantastic stories on Thursday. Zoe did some amazing sounding out, and remembered all her full stops and finger spaces! Jack wrote 6 words all by himself and remembered all his finger spaces!

Here is their wonderful work!

Jack - I am going to the shop. I am going to buy my toys.

Zoe - Tonight we are having fish and chips with Zac and me!
Mum is going to buy chips and fish for tea.
Well done you three, you are all star writers!
